Lonely Planet Wine Trails

In this – the first book in Lonely Planet’s ‘Perfect Weekends’ series – we write about three of New Zealand’s most memorable and visitor-friendly wine regions.

Released in October 2015, Wine Trails recommends itineraries for Hawke’s Bay, Marlborough and Central Otago, alongside 49 other wine regions around the world. As well as offering our personal insights into which wines to taste and why they’re special (and that does include some spectacular Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc!), we also suggest where to stay, eat and visit as side trips, to round out your wine-touring adventure. We also introduce some of the personalities in the business, most of whom are totally insane in one way or t’other.
